Hino City conducts the following health checkups.
Special Health Checkups and Special Health Classes
Special health checkups and special health classes focusing on the prevention and elimination of metabolic syndrome are conducted for those who will be between 40 and 74 years of age in the current fiscal year who are members of public health insurance (such as NHI or a health insurance union, mutual aid union or cooperative health insurance).
Main Program of Special Health Checkups
- Medical interview, physical measurements, clinical tests (physical examination), and blood pressure measurement
- Liver function test (GOT, GPT, γ-GTP)
- Blood fat test (neutral fat, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol)
- Blood sugar level test (blood sugar on an empty stomach, hemoglobin A1c)
- Urinalysis (urine sugar, urine protein)

Special Health Classes Program
Interviews, instruction and advice on how to improve everyday habits, such as nutrition and exercise, are conducted by a public health nurse or nutritionist for those who are deemed as needing health maintenance efforts according to the results of the special health checkup.

Cervical Cancer Checkup
For women twenty years of age or older (once every other year; for even-numbered age persons)
Breast Cancer Checkup
For women forty years of age or older (once every other year; for even-numbered age persons)
Stomach Cancer Checkup
For those forty years of age or older
Lung Cancer Checkup
For those forty years of age or older
For women who will reach 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 or 70 years of age within the fiscal year
Oral Health Checkup
Oral Health Checkup (Gum Disease Checkup)
For Hino City residents who are 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 or 70 years of age as of April 1.
Checkups are conducted at dental institutions designated by Hino City to prevent the loss of teeth due to gum disease.
Information is mailed to those who are eligible.
Adult Dental Care Classes
For city residents who are twenty years of age or older
Dental health checkups, consultation, and instruction on how to brush your teeth are conducted. (Babysitting service available.)
Infant and Toddler Dental Health Consultation
For children between 18 months and the month they turn 4 years of age
Dental health checkups, consultation and instruction on how to brush your teeth are conducted.
Introduction to Dentists Who Can Make Home Visits
With the cooperation of the Hino City Dental Association, the city offers introductions to family dentists who conduct house calls for those who are not able to go to the dentists on an outpatient basis because they are bedridden or other causes. Treatment covered by health insurance can be provided.
Colon Cancer Checkup
For those forty years of age or older, and the following apply:
- Hino City NHI members who are between 40 and 74 years of age
- Those seventy-five years of age or older
- Those between 65 and 74 years of age with authorization for disability of Latter-Term Medical Insurance
Hepatitis Virus Checkup
Conducted twice a year (spring and autumn) at the Health and Welfare Center. Those who reach forty years of age or older within the fiscal year and have never undergone a hepatitis virus checkup are eligible. (This excludes those who are undergoing treatment for hepatitis.) If you have not undergone a hepatitis virus checkup and the abovementioned does not apply but would like to undergo a checkup, please consult the public health center.
Iki-Iki (Latter-Term Elderly) Health Checkup
Those who will reach 75 years or older within the fiscal year and those between 65 and 74 years of age with disability authorization of Latter-Term Medical Insurance can undergo individual health checkups at designated medical institutions in Hino City.
The health checkup program is that same as for special health checkups.
Note: Individual notifications will be mailed to eligible residents.
